शक्यम् खलु भवेत् राम सहायेन त्वया अनघ ।
सुर राज्यम् अपि प्राप्तुम् स्व राज्यम् किमुत प्रभो ॥ ॥४-८-३॥
Śakyam khalu bhavet Rāma sahāyena tvayā anagha |
Sura rājyam api prāptum sva rājyam kimuta prabho ॥4-8-3॥
Translation
O sinless Rama! O Lord! With you as my helper, it would be possible to obtain even the kingdom of the gods; how much easier, then, to regain my own kingdom?

हे निष्पाप राम! हे प्रभो! आपकी सहायता से तो देवताओं का राज्य (इंद्र का स्वर्ग) भी प्राप्त किया जा सकता है, फिर मेरे अपने (छोटे से) राज्य की तो बात ही क्या है?
English Commentary
This is a classic 'a fortiori' argument (if the greater is possible, the lesser is certain). Sugriva uses hyperbole to express his newfound confidence. By stating that even Indra's heaven is attainable with Rama's aid, he trivializes the task of defeating Vali. It shows a complete paradigm shift in Sugriva's mindset—from a fugitive running for his life to a king claiming his throne. The address Anagha (Sinless one) suggests that Rama’s power is pure and dharmic, ensuring that their victory will be righteous, not just forceful.

सुग्रीव का आत्मविश्वास अब सातवें आसमान पर है। वे राम की क्षमता का आकलन करते हुए कहते हैं कि राम की मैत्री से असंभव भी संभव है। 'सुर राज्यम्' (इंद्र का राज्य) शक्ति का चरम प्रतीक है; यदि राम की सहायता से वह भी मिल सकता है, तो किष्किन्धा का राज्य तो बहुत छोटी बात है। यहाँ राम के लिए 'अनघ' (पाप रहित) शब्द का प्रयोग विशेष है—जो यह बताता है कि राम की शक्ति उनके धर्म और पवित्रता में निहित है। सुग्रीव अब बालि के भय से मुक्त होकर विजय के प्रति आश्वस्त हैं।
