केवलम् हि सहाया मे हनुमत् प्रमुखास्त्विमे ।
अतः अहम् धारयामि अद्य प्राणान् कृच्छ्र गतः अपि सन् ॥ ॥४-८-३६॥
Kevalam hi sahāyā me hanumat pramukhāstvime । Ataḥ aham dhārayāmi adya prāṇān kṛcchra gataḥ api san ॥ ॥4-8-36॥
Translation
Only these loyal ones, led by Hanuman, are my companions. Therefore, although I am in a desperate situation, I am still able to sustain my life today.

केवल ये हनुमान आदि ही मेरे सहायक हैं। इसीलिए अत्यंत कठिनाई में होने पर भी मैं आज अपने प्राणों को धारण किए हुए हूँ।
English Commentary
Sugriva acknowledges the critical role of his 'inner circle,' specifically naming Hanuman. This is a tribute to loyalty. Despite the overwhelming power of Vali, Sugriva survives because of the collective strength and wisdom of his ministers. It highlights that while Sugriva has lost his kingdom, he has retained the loyalty of key individuals, which is a testament to his own character as a leader.

सुग्रीव हनुमान और उनके साथियों के प्रति कृतज्ञता व्यक्त करते हैं। वे स्वीकार करते हैं कि यदि हनुमान जैसा बुद्धिमान और शक्तिशाली मंत्री साथ न होता, तो वे मानसिक और शारीरिक रूप से कब के टूट चुके होते। यह 'मित्र' और 'मंत्री' का महत्व बताता है। विपत्ति में वफादार साथी ही जीवन का आधार होते हैं।
