एते हि कपयः स्निग्धा माम् रक्षन्ति समन्ततः ।
सह गच्छन्ति गन्तव्ये नित्यम् तिष्ठन्ति च स्थिते ॥ ॥४-८-३७॥
Ete hi kapayaḥ snigdhā mām rakṣanti samantataḥ । Saha gacchanti gantavye nityam tiṣṭhanti ca sthite ॥ ॥4-8-37॥
Translation
These affectionate monkeys protect me from all sides. They go with me when I move, and they always stay by me when I stop.
हिंदी अनुवाद
ये स्नेह करने वाले वानर सब ओर से मेरी रक्षा करते हैं। मेरे कहीं जाने पर ये साथ चलते हैं और मेरे रुकने पर ये सदा मेरे पास ठहरते हैं।
English Commentary
This verse paints a picture of the protective cordon around Sugriva. His ministers act as bodyguards, shadowing his every move. The use of the word snigdhā (affectionate/loving) implies that their service is driven by devotion rather than duty alone. It contrasts the fear Sugriva feels towards Vali with the absolute trust he has in his immediate companions.

यहाँ सुग्रीव की सुरक्षा व्यवस्था (security protocol) का वर्णन है। उनके साथी उन्हें एक पल के लिए भी अकेला नहीं छोड़ते। 'स्निग्धा' (स्नेह करने वाले) शब्द बताता है कि यह सुरक्षा वेतन के लिए नहीं, बल्कि प्रेम और समर्पण के कारण है। यह दृश्य राम को आश्वस्त करता है कि सुग्रीव के पास एक अनुशासित और वफादार छोटी सेना है।
