एवम् उक्तः तु सुग्रीवः काकुत्स्थेन महात्मना ।
प्रहर्षम् अतुलम् लेभे चतुर्भिः सह वानरैः॥ ॥४-८-४५॥
Evam uktaḥ tu sugrīvaḥ kākutsthena mahātmanā । Praharṣam atulam lebhe caturbhiḥ saha vānaraiḥ ॥ ॥4-8-45॥
Translation
Thus addressed by the great-souled Kakutstha (Rama), Sugriva, along with his four Vanara companions, obtained incomparable joy.

महात्मा काकुत्स्थ (श्रीराम) के द्वारा ऐसा कहे जाने पर सुग्रीव ने अपने चार वानर साथियों सहित अतुलनीय हर्ष प्राप्त किया।
English Commentary
The assurance from Rama acts as a balm not just for Sugriva but for his entire cabinet of ministers ("four Vanaras"). The use of the patronymic "Kakutstha" (descendant of Kakutstha) invokes the lineage of warrior-kings known for keeping their word. The collective joy signifies a shift in the group dynamic from desperate fugitives to confident allies, emboldened by the presence of a superior power.

राम के वचनों का प्रभाव केवल सुग्रीव तक सीमित नहीं रहा, बल्कि उनके चारों मंत्री (हनुमान आदि) भी आश्वस्त हो गए। 'महात्मना' विशेषण राम की उदारता और प्रभाव को दर्शाता है। एक अच्छे नेता की पहचान यही है कि जब उसे सुरक्षा मिलती है, तो उसके अनुयायियों में भी उत्साह का संचार होता है। भय के बादल छंट गए हैं और अब वे समाधान की ओर बढ़ रहे हैं।
