हनुमांस्त्वयि विश्रान्तस्ततः शेषं गमिष्यति ।
काकुत्थ्सस्यानृशंस्यं च मैथिल्याश्च विवासनम् ॥ ॥५-१-१००॥
hanumāṃstvayi viśrāntastataḥ śeṣaṃ gamiṣyati । kākutthssasyānṛśaṃsyaṃ ca maithilyāśca vivāsanam ॥ ॥5-1-100॥
Translation
"Having rested on you, Hanuman will traverse the rest of the path. Consider the kindness of Rama (Kakutstha) and the exile of Maithili."

"हनुमान तुम पर विश्राम करके शेष मार्ग को पार करेंगे। तुम श्रीराम (काकुत्स्थ) की कोमलता (दयालुता) और सीता (मैथिली) के वियोग/निर्वासन पर विचार करो।"
English Commentary
Here, the appeal shifts from duty to empathy. The Ocean asks Mainaka to reflect on two things: the ānṛśaṃsyam (benignity/compassion) of Rama and the vivāsanam (exile/banishment) of Sita. By invoking Rama’s noble nature and Sita’s suffering, the Ocean humanizes the divine mission. He suggests that helping Hanuman is a way to alleviate the tragic plight of a virtuous couple. It frames the intervention as an act of compassion.

सागर मैनाक को भावनात्मक रूप से प्रेरित कर रहे हैं। वे दो कारण देते हैं: पहला, राम (काकुत्स्थ) का 'आनृशंस्यं' (क्रूरता का अभाव/दयालु स्वभाव)—अर्थात इतने सज्जन पुरुष की पत्नी का हरण हुआ है, तो हमें पिघलना चाहिए। दूसरा, 'मैथिल्याश्च विवासनम्'—एक निर्दोष स्त्री (सीता) का अपहरण और दुःख। इन बातों को सोचकर मैनाक को करुणावश सहायता करनी चाहिए। यह श्लोक बताता है कि यह युद्ध केवल शक्ति का नहीं, भावनाओं और न्याय का भी है।
