प्रीतो हृष्टमना वाक्यमब्रवीत्पर्वतः कपिम् ।
मानुषं धारयन् रूपमात्मनः शिखरे स्थितः ॥ ॥५-१-१११॥
Prīto hṛṣṭamanā vākyamabravītparvataḥ kapim । Mānuṣaṃ dhārayan rūpamātmanaḥ śikhare sthitaḥ ◆ ॥5-1-111॥
Translation
Pleased and delighted at heart, the mountain, assuming a human form and standing on his own summit, spoke these words to the monkey.

प्रसन्न और हर्षित मन वाले उस पर्वत ने अपने शिखर पर खड़े होकर, मनुष्य का रूप धारण कर वानर (हनुमान) से यह वचन कहा।
English Commentary
The personification of nature is a recurring and beautiful theme in the Valmiki Ramayana. To communicate effectively and show intimacy, Maināka assumes a human form (mānuṣaṃ rūpam). This transformation is significant; it signifies the transition from raw nature to civilized culture (Sanskriti), enabling the formal rites of hospitality. Standing on his own peak symbolizes his stability and his capacity to offer a solid foundation for rest. His delightful state of mind indicates that his offer of service proceeds from genuine affection and respect, rather than obligation or fear.
