Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
इत्युक्त्वा पाणिना शैलमालभ्य हरिपुङ्गवः ।
जगामाकाशमाविश्य वीर्यवान् प्रहसन्निव ॥ ॥५-१-१३३॥
Ityuktvā pāṇinā śailamālabhya haripuṅgavaḥ । Jagāmākāśamāviśya vīryavān prahasanniva ॥ ॥5-1-133॥
Translation
Having spoken thus, the bull among monkeys touched the mountain with his hand. Then, entering the sky, the mighty one proceeded, as if smiling.
हिंदी अनुवाद
ऐसा कहकर वानरश्रेष्ठ (हरिपुङ्गव) हनुमान जी ने हाथ से पर्वत को स्पर्श किया और फिर आकाश में प्रवेश कर, मानो हँसते हुए आगे बढ़ गए।
English Commentary
This verse highlights Hanumān's exquisite diplomatic skill. Caught between a vow to not stop and the duty to honor a host, he finds a middle path: a physical touch (ālabhya). By touching the mountain with his hand, he ritually accepts the hospitality without breaking his journey. The phrase prahasanniva (as if smiling) indicates his confidence and lack of exertion. He navigates the "obstacle of comfort" with grace, proving that a determined seeker can acknowledge worldly offers without getting entangled in them.

यहाँ हनुमान जी की व्यवहार-कुशलता (Diplomacy) का अद्भुत उदाहरण है। वे रुके नहीं, किन्तु मैनाक का मान रखने के लिए उन्होंने हाथ से पर्वत का स्पर्श कर लिया ('पाणिना शैलमालभ्य')। शास्त्रों में स्पर्श को भी आतिथ्य स्वीकार करने का एक सांकेतिक रूप माना गया है। 'प्रहसन्निव' (मानो हँसते हुए) दर्शाता है कि हनुमान जी को अपने संकल्प पर पूर्ण विश्वास है और वे इस विघ्न (सत्कार रूपी बाधा) को पार करके प्रसन्न हैं। वे न तो क्रोधित हुए और न ही प्रलोभन में फँसे।
