Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
स पर्वतसमुद्राभ्यां बहुमानादवेक्षितः ।
पूजितश्चोपपन्नाभिराशीर्भिरनिलात्मजः ॥ ॥५-१-१३४॥
Sa parvatasamudrābhyāṃ bahumānādavekṣitaḥ । Pūjitaścopapannābhirāśīrbhiranilātmajaḥ ॥ ॥5-1-134॥
Translation
He, the son of the Wind, was looked upon with great respect by the mountain and the ocean. He was worshipped and given appropriate blessings.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस पवनपुत्र (हनुमान) को पर्वत (मैनाक) और समुद्र ने बहुत आदर के साथ देखा। उन्होंने हनुमान जी का पूजन किया और योग्य आशीर्वाद दिए।
English Commentary
Hanumān's refusal to rest, handled with such respect, paradoxically earns him even greater reverence from the Mountain and the Ocean. They look at him with bahumāna (high esteem). Renunciation of comfort for the sake of duty commands respect. They offer upapannābhiḥ āśīrbhiḥ—blessings that were "appropriate" or "suitable" for his mission (likely blessings for success and safety). This moment marks the successful clearance of the first hurdle, which was internal (the temptation to rest) as much as external.

जब हनुमान जी ने मैनाक के प्रेम और अपने कर्तव्य दोनों का सम्मान किया, तो मैनाक और समुद्र की दृष्टि में उनका कद और बढ़ गया ('बहुमानादवेक्षितः')। जो व्यक्ति सुख-सुविधाओं का त्याग कर उच्च लक्ष्य की ओर बढ़ता है, दुनिया उसका अधिक सम्मान करती है। 'उपपन्नाभिराशीर्भिः' (योग्य आशीर्वादों से) का अर्थ है कि बड़ों ने उन्हें 'विजयी भव' जैसे आशीर्वाद दिए जो उनके कार्य के अनुकूल थे। यह प्रसंग सिद्ध करता है कि त्याग से ही सच्चा सम्मान प्राप्त होता है।
