Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
देवताश्चाभवन् हृष्टास्तत्रस्थास्तस्य कर्मणा ।
काञ्चनस्य सुनाभस्य सहस्राक्षश्च वासवः ॥ ॥५-१-१३८॥
Devatāścābhavan hṛṣṭāstatrasthāstasya karmaṇā । Kāñcanasya sunābhasya sahasrākṣaśca vāsavaḥ ॥ ॥5-1-138॥
Translation
The gods stationed there became happy with his (Maināka's) deed, and the thousand-eyed Vāsava (Indra) was also pleased with the golden Sunābha (Maināka).
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस (मैनाक) के कर्म से वहाँ स्थित देवता और सहस्र नेत्रों वाले इन्द्र (वासव) भी उस सुनहरे और सुंदर नाभि वाले (मैनाक) पर प्रसन्न हुए।
English Commentary
The focus shifts to the reaction of the celestials regarding Maināka. Surprisingly, Indra (Sahasrākṣa), the very deity who clipped the wings of the mountains, is pleased. He appreciates Maināka’s bravery in risking divine wrath to serve a righteous cause. Maināka is referred to as Sunābha (One with a beautiful navel/center) and Kāñcana (Golden), descriptors of his physical splendor. This verse illustrates that authentic service to Dharma (exemplified by helping Hanumān) pleases the cosmic powers, even superseding previous enmities.

अब दृश्य बदलता है। देवता केवल हनुमान से ही नहीं, बल्कि मैनाक से भी प्रसन्न थे। मैनाक ने रामदूत की सेवा करने के लिए इन्द्र के भय की परवाह नहीं की थी। यहाँ मैनाक को 'सुनाभ' (सुंदर नाभि वाला या जिसका केंद्र सुंदर हो) कहा गया है। इन्द्र (सहस्राक्ष) जो पहले पर्वतों के शत्रु थे, अब मैनाक के इस त्याग और साहस को देखकर प्रसन्न ('हृष्ट') हो गए। यह दिखाता है कि 'राम-काज' (ईश्वर का कार्य) करने से पुराने शत्रु भी मित्र बन जाते हैं।
