Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
साह्यं ते सुमहद्विक्रान्तस्य हनूमतः ।
क्रमतो योजनशतं निर्भयस्य भये सति ॥ ॥५-१-१४१॥
Sāhyaṃ te sumahadvikrāntasya hanūmataḥ । Kramato yojanaśataṃ nirbhayasya bhaye sati ॥ ॥5-1-141॥
Translation
(Indra says) Great help was rendered by you to the powerful Hanumān, who is crossing a hundred yojanas, even when there was danger (fear of me).
हिंदी अनुवाद
(इन्द्र कहते हैं) जब भय का कारण (इन्द्र/वज्र) उपस्थित था, तब भी तुमने सौ योजन लांघने वाले निर्भीक और पराक्रमी हनुमान की बहुत बड़ी सहायता की है।
English Commentary
Indra explicitly states why he is pleased. Maināka offered help (sāhyam) while danger (bhaye sati)—specifically the danger of Indra himself—was present. To serve a guest while risking one's own safety is the highest form of hospitality. Indra acknowledges Hanumān's prowess (vikrāntasya) and the magnitude of his journey (yojanaśatam). By validating Maināka's sacrifice, Indra reinforces the Dharma that supporting a righteous cause is worth any risk.

इन्द्र अपनी प्रसन्नता का कारण बताते हैं। 'भये सति'—भय उपस्थित होने पर भी। मैनाक जानते थे कि बाहर निकलने पर इन्द्र उन पर प्रहार कर सकते हैं, फिर भी उन्होंने हनुमान की थकान मिटाने के लिए वह जोखिम उठाया। यही 'साह्यं सुमहत्' (महान सहायता) है। इन्द्र यहाँ स्वीकार करते हैं कि हनुमान 'निर्भय' हैं और 'विक्रान्त' हैं। जोखिम उठाकर की गई सेवा ही सच्ची सेवा मानी जाती है, और इन्द्र ने इसी गुण का सम्मान किया।
