पीड्यमानस्तु बलिना महेन्द्रस्तेन पर्वतः ।
रीतीर्निर्वर्तयामास काञ्चनाञ्जनराजतीः ॥५-१-१५॥
pīḍyamānastu balinā mahendrastena parvataḥ |
rītīrnirvartayāmāsa kāñcanāñjanarājatīḥ ॥5-1-15॥
Translation
Being pressed by the mighty one, Mount Mahendra squeezed out streams of gold, antimony, and silver.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस बलवान (हनुमान) द्वारा दबाए जाने पर उस महेंद्र पर्वत ने सोने, अंजन (काला सुरमा) और चांदी की (पिघली हुई) रेखाएँ/धाराएँ बाहर निकाल दीं।
English Commentary
This verse escalates the description of the pressure. Beyond water, the mountain now bleeds precious metals. The verb 'Nirvartayamasa' implies causing to flow or come forth. The specific mention of gold (Kanchana), antimony/collyrium (Anjana), and silver (Rajati) creates a vivid color palette of yellow, black, and white streaming down the slopes. It signifies that Hanuman’s preparation for the leap is an earth-shattering event that disrupts the geological stasis, forcing the mountain to reveal its hidden treasures. It emphasizes that true power can alter the very composition of its environment.

हनुमान जी का भार इतना अधिक है कि केवल जल ही नहीं, अपितु पर्वत के गर्भ में स्थित धातुएँ भी बाहर आने लगीं। 'रीतीः' का अर्थ है धातुओं की धाराएँ या नसें। यहाँ काञ्चन (सोना), अंजन (काला खनिज), और राजती (चांदी) का उल्लेख है। यह वर्णन दर्शाता है कि दबाव के कारण चट्टानें फट रही हैं और उनके भीतर दबी हुई खनिज संपदा द्रवित होकर या चूर्ण होकर बाहर बह रही है। यह दृश्य पर्वत के ऐश्वर्य को भी दिखाता है और हनुमान जी के वज्रतुल्य कठोर शरीर के प्रभाव को भी। यह एक प्रकार का 'मंथन' है जो पर्वत के आंतरिक तत्वों को उजागर कर रहा है।
