व्यादाय विपुलं वक्त्रं स्थिता सा मरुतेः पुरः ।
तं दृष्ह्ट्वा मेघसंकाशं दशयोजनमायतम् ॥५-१-१६२॥
vyādāya vipulaṃ vaktraṃ sthitā sā maruteḥ puraḥ |
taṃ dṛṣṭvā meghasaṃkāśaṃ daśayojanamāyatam ॥5-1-162॥
Translation
She stood before Maruti with her mouth opened wide. Seeing that, Hanuman, resembling a cloud, expanded himself to ten yojanas.

सुरसा ने हनुमान के सामने अपना विशाल मुख फैला दिया। सुरसा को ऐसा करते देख, हनुमान मेघ के समान गरजते हुए दस योजन लंबे हो गए।
English Commentary
The shapeshifting duel begins. Hanuman utilizes his Mahima Siddhi (the power to become infinitely large). He expands to daśa yojana (ten yojanas). The comparison to a cloud (meghasaṃkāśaṃ) suggests not just size but also a darkening, overwhelming presence. He acts reactively to her challenge—every time she creates a container, he becomes larger than the vessel. This mathematical progression of size serves to visualize the magnitude of the obstacles Hanuman faces and the limitless nature of his inner power.

यहाँ से आकार बढ़ाने की प्रतिस्पर्धा शुरू होती है। हनुमान जी ने अपना रूप 'मेघसंकाशं' (बादल जैसा विशाल) कर लिया और उनका आकार 'दशयोजनमायतम्' (दस योजन विस्तृत) हो गया। योजन एक प्राचीन माप है (लगभग 8-12 किमी)। हनुमान जी का यह रूप उनकी 'महिमा' सिद्धि का परिचायक है, जिसके द्वारा वे अपने शरीर को कितना भी विशाल बना सकते हैं। यह केवल शारीरिक विस्तार नहीं है, बल्कि अपने प्रभाव और आभामंडल का विस्तार भी है। उन्होंने सुरसा को दिखाया कि जिसे वह छोटा सा वानर समझ रही है, वह वास्तव में एक विराट शक्ति है।
