चकार सुरसा वक्त्रं षष्टियोजनमायतम् ।
तथैव हनुमान्वीरः सप्ततीयोजिनोच्छ्रितः ॥५-१-१६५॥
cakāra surasā vaktraṃ ṣaṣṭiyojanamāyatam |
tathaiva hanumānvīraḥ saptatīyojinocchritaḥ ॥5-1-165॥
Translation
Surasa expanded her mouth to sixty yojanas. Similarly, the hero Hanuman became seventy yojanas high.

सुरसा ने अपना मुख साठ योजन विस्तृत किया। वैसे ही वीर हनुमान सत्तर योजन ऊंचे हो गए।
English Commentary
The scale reaches immense proportions—60 and 70 yojanas. The adverb tathaiva (just so/in the same manner) implies an effortless counter-move by Hanuman. There is no hesitation. This relentless expansion serves to exhibit the limitlessness of the Prana (life force) that Hanuman, as the son of Vayu, embodies. The commentary notes that such descriptions in epics serve to evoke Adbhuta Rasa (the sentiment of wonder) in the listener.

सुरसा 60 योजन और हनुमान 70 योजन। यह क्रम निरंतर बढ़ता जा रहा है। 'तथैव' (वैसे ही) शब्द बताता है कि हनुमान जी बिना किसी विलंब के, सुरसा की हर चाल का तुरंत जवाब दे रहे थे। उनकी प्रतिक्रिया का समय (reaction time) शून्य था। यह दर्शाता है कि हनुमान जी की सिद्धियों पर उनकी कितनी प्रबल पकड़ है। वे न केवल आकार बदल रहे हैं, बल्कि अपने मन की स्थिरता भी बनाए हुए हैं।
