सुसंक्षिप्यात्मनः कायं बभूवाञ्गुष्ठमात्रकः ।
सोऽभिपत्याशु तद्वक्त्रं निष्पत्य च महाजवः ।
अन्तरिक्षे स्थितः श्रीमानिदं वचनमब्रवीत् ॥५-१-१६८॥
susaṃkṣipyātmanaḥ kāyaṃ babhūvāṅguṣṭhamātrakaḥ |
so'bhipatyāśu tadvaktraṃ niṣpatya ca mahājavaḥ |
antarikṣe sthitaḥ śrīmānidaṃ vacanamabravīt ॥5-1-168॥
Translation
Contracting his body well, he became the size of a thumb. With great speed, he entered her mouth and exited it immediately. Standing in the sky, the glorious one spoke these words.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उन्होंने अपने शरीर को सिकोड़कर अंगूठे के आकार का बना लिया। वे महावेग से उसके मुख में प्रवेश करके तुरंत बाहर निकल आए और आकाश में खड़े होकर उस शोभायमान (हनुमान) ने यह वचन कहा।
English Commentary
The climax of the encounter involves a sudden reversal. Using Anima Siddhi (the power to become small), Hanuman shrinks from massive mountain-size to aṅguṣṭhamātrakaḥ (thumb-sized). He utilizes extreme speed (mahājavaḥ) to zip in and out of her gaping mouth before she can snap it shut. This brilliant maneuver satisfies the letter of the law (the boon: "enter my mouth") while defying its intended spirit (death). By standing in the sky (antarikṣe sthitaḥ) unharmed, he proves his superiority. It is a profound lesson: when faced with an overwhelming, rigid obstacle, flexibility and humility (becoming small) often succeed where resistance fails.
हिंदी टीका
यह हनुमान जी की 'अणिमा' और 'लघिमा' सिद्धि का चमत्कार है। उन्होंने 90 योजन के शरीर को निमिष मात्र में 'अङ्गुष्ठमात्रकः' (अंगूठे के बराबर) कर लिया। जब सुरसा का मुख 100 योजन खुला था, हनुमान जी मच्छर समान बनकर उसमें गए और सुरसा के मुंह बंद करने से पहले ही बाहर आ गए। उन्होंने ब्रह्मा जी के वरदान की लाज रख ली (मुख में प्रवेश करके) और अपनी यात्रा भी जारी रखी (जीवित बाहर आकर)। 'महाजवः' (महावेगशाली) शब्द उनकी गति को दर्शाता है। यह प्रसंग सिखाता है कि अहंकारी के सामने छोटा बनने में ही विजय है।
