तमदृष्ट्वा वदनान्मुक्तं चन्द्रं राहुमुखादिव ।
अब्रवीत्सुरसा देवी स्वेन रूपेण वानरम् ॥५-१-१७०॥
taṃ dṛṣṭvā vadanānmuktaṃ candraṃ rāhumukhādiva |
abravītsurasā devī svena rūpeṇa vānaram ॥5-1-170॥
Translation
Seeing him released from her mouth like the Moon released from the mouth of Rahu, Goddess Surasa, assuming her own form, spoke to the Vanara.

राहु के मुख से मुक्त हुए चन्द्रमा की भाँति उन्हें (हनुमान को) मुख से निकला देखकर, देवी सुरसा ने अपने वास्तविक (दिव्य) रूप में वानर से कहा।
English Commentary
The simile used here—the Moon emerging from the mouth of Rahu (the eclipse demon)—is visually striking. It suggests a narrow escape from darkness into light. Surasa sheds her terrifying guise and reveals her true identity as a Devi (Goddess). This transformation signifies the end of the trial. The duality of her form (monster for the test, goddess for the blessing) reflects the nature of obstacles in spiritual journeys: they appear menacing to test resolve but reveal their benevolent purpose once overcome.

यहाँ हनुमान जी की तुलना 'चन्द्र' (चंद्रमा) और सुरसा के मुख की तुलना 'राहु' से की गई है। जैसे ग्रहण के बाद चंद्रमा पुनः प्रकाशमान होता है, वैसे ही संकट से निकलने पर हनुमान जी की शोभा बढ़ गई। सुरसा ने अपना भयानक राक्षसी रूप त्याग दिया और 'स्वेन रूपेण' (अपने वास्तविक दिव्य रूप) में आ गईं। यह परिवर्तन दर्शाता है कि परीक्षा समाप्त हो चुकी है। जब साधक परीक्षा में उत्तीर्ण होता है, तो भयानक दिखने वाली बाधाएँ भी अपना सौम्य और आशीर्वाद देने वाला स्वरूप प्रकट कर देती हैं।
