हृतहृत्सा हनुमता पपात विधुराम्भसि ।
तां हतां वानरेणाशु पतितां वीक्ष्य सिंहिकाम् ॥ ॥५-१-१९६॥
hṛtahṛtsā hanumatā papāta vidhurāmbhasi । tāṃ hatāṃ vānareṇāśu patitāṃ vīkṣya siṃhikām ॥ ॥5-1-196॥

हनुमान जी द्वारा हृदय विदीर्ण कर दिए जाने पर वह (सिंहिका) व्याकुल होकर जल में गिर पड़ी। वानर द्वारा शीघ्रता से मारी गई उस सिंहिका को जल में गिरी हुई देखकर... (अगले श्लोक से अन्वय)।
English Commentary
The compound word Hṛtahṛtsā (one whose heart has been taken away/destroyed) is biologically and grammatically potent. It confirms that the attack was fatal and internal. The narrative imagery shifts from the aerial domain back to the aquatic; the predator of the sky becomes debris in the ocean. The word Āśu (quickly) reiterates the speed of the encounter—Simhika, an ancient threat, was dispatched in moments by the superior valor of the Vanara.

'हृतहृत्सा' (जिसका हृदय हर लिया गया हो या नष्ट कर दिया हो)—यह शब्द सिंहिका की मृत्यु का कारण स्पष्ट करता है। वह जो अब तक आकाश में विचरण कर रही थी और हनुमान जी की गति को अवरुद्ध कर रही थी, अब 'विधुरा' (व्याकुल/असहाय) होकर सागर में गिर पड़ी। यहाँ ऊर्ध्वगति (हनुमान जी की उड़ान) और अधोगति (सिंहिका का पतन) का विरोधाभास (contrast) काव्यात्मक है। यह बुराई के पतन और धर्म के उत्थान का भी प्रतीक है।
