अथ वैडूर्यवर्णेषु शाद्वलेषु महाबलः ।
धीरः सलिलकल्पेषु विच्चार यथासुखम् ॥५-१-३॥
atha vaiḍūryavarṇeṣu śādvaleṣu mahābalaḥ |
dhīraḥ salilakalpeṣu viccāra yathāsukham ॥5-1-3॥
Translation
Then, the mighty and courageous Hanuman walked with ease upon the grassy patches that resembled the color of lapis lazuli and looked like water.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तदनन्तर, महाबली और धैर्यवान हनुमान जी ने वैदूर्य मणि के समान रंग वाले तथा जल के समान प्रतीत होने वाले (कोमल और हरे) घास के मैदानों पर सुखपूर्वक विचरण किया।
English Commentary
This verse juxtaposes the immense power of Hanuman ('Mahabalah') with the serene beauty of the Mahendra mountain. The description of the grass as 'salilakalpeshu' (resembling water) and 'vaiduryavarneshu' (color of lapis lazuli/cat's eye gem) paints a vivid picture of the lush, shimmering landscape. The key phrase is 'yathasukham' (at ease/happily). Despite the monumental, pressure-filled task ahead, Hanuman displays the characteristic calm of a true hero ('Dhirah'). He is not pacing in anxiety but walking with the confidence of one who knows his own strength. It illustrates the state of 'sthitaprajna' (steady intellect) in action.

पर्वत के शिखर पर छलांग लगाने से पूर्व हनुमान जी की सहजता का वर्णन यहाँ किया गया है। 'यथासुखम्' (सुखपूर्वक) शब्द यह बताता है कि इतना बड़ा कार्य सामने होने पर भी वे तनावग्रस्त नहीं हैं, बल्कि शांत और सहज हैं। घास की तुलना 'वैदूर्य' मणि और 'जल' से करना महर्षि की काव्य प्रतिभा को दर्शाता है, जो महेंद्र पर्वत की सुंदरता और हनुमान जी के विशाल आकार के सामने उस स्थान की कोमलता का विरोधाभास प्रस्तुत करता है। 'धीरः' विशेषण उनके मानसिक संतुलन को रेखांकित करता है—वे केवल बलवान (महाबलः) ही नहीं, अपितु बुद्धिमान और धैर्यवान भी हैं।
