द्विजान् वित्रासयन् धीमानुरसा पादपान् हरन् ।
मृगांश्च सुबाहुन्निघ्नन् प्रवृद्ध इव केसरी ॥५-१-४॥
dvijān vitrāsayan dhīmānurasā pādapān haran |
mṛgāṃśca subāhunnighnan pravṛddha iva kesarī ॥5-1-4॥
Translation
Frightening the birds, knocking down trees with his chest, and striking down many animals, the wise Hanuman appeared like a rampant lion.
हिंदी अनुवाद
बुद्धिमान हनुमान जी पक्षियों को भयभीत करते हुए, अपनी छाती के धक्के से वृक्षों को उखाड़ते हुए और बहुत से पशुओं को मारते (हटाते) हुए, एक विशाल सिंह की भांति प्रतीत हुए।
English Commentary
The narrative shifts from calm to kinetic energy. Hanuman's movement creates turbulence in the environment. The destruction of trees and the scattering of wildlife are collateral effects of his increasing momentum and expanding size, not acts of malice. Comparing him to a 'pravriddha kesari' (a fully grown/enraged lion) emphasizes his dominance over the terrain. Interestingly, he is still referred to as 'dhiman' (wise/intelligent), reminding the reader that this display of physical force is guided by intelligence and purpose. It is the controlled chaos necessary to generate the velocity for the great leap.
