तस्य लाङ्गूलमाविद्धमात्तवेगस्य पृष्ठतः ।
ददृशे गरुडेनेव ह्रियमाणो महोरगः ॥५-१-३४॥
tasya lāṅgūlamāviddhamāttavegasya pṛṣṭhataḥ |
dadṛśe garuḍeneva hriyamāṇo mahoragaḥ ॥5-1-34॥
Translation
As he gathered speed, his tail curled behind his back appeared like a great serpent being carried away by Garuda.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वेग ग्रहण करते हुए हनुमान जी के पीछे मुड़ी हुई उनकी पूंछ ऐसी दिखाई दे रही थी, मानो गरुड़ द्वारा हरण किया जाता हुआ कोई विशाल सर्प हो।
English Commentary
The imagery of the tail continues, focusing on the visual effect of the momentum ('Attavegasya'). As Hanuman coils his body for the jump, his tail lashes behind him. The comparison to a 'Mahoraga' (great serpent) being carried by Garuda is visually arresting. It suggests that the tail has a life of its own, trailing the hero like a captured beast. This reinforces the Garuda-Hanuman connection—both are masters of the wind and symbols of immense power and speed.

पिछली उपमा का विस्तार यहाँ किया गया है। 'आत्तवेगस्य' का अर्थ है जिसने वेग (speed/momentum) प्राप्त कर लिया है। जैसे ही हनुमान जी ने छलांग के लिए गति बनाई, उनकी पूंछ हवा में पीछे की ओर लहराई। वह दृश्य ऐसा था मानो गरुड़ किसी महासर्प को पंजों में दबाकर उड़ रहे हों। पूंछ की लंबाई और उसका टेढ़ा-मेढ़ा आकार सांप जैसा है, और हनुमान जी का वेग गरुड़ जैसा है। यह दृश्य उनकी शक्ति और भयंकर रूप को और निखारता है।
