सर्वथा कृतकार्योऽहमेष्यामि सह सीतया ।
आनयिष्यामि वा लङ्कां समुत्पाट्य सरावणाम् ॥ ॥५-१-४२॥
sarvathā kṛtakāryo'hameṣyāmi saha sītayā |
ānayiṣyāmi vā laṅkāṃ samutpāṭya sarāvaṇām ॥5-1-42॥
Translation
I will by all means return successful with Sita, or I will uproot Lanka along with Ravana and bring it here.

मैं सब प्रकार से कार्य सिद्ध करके सीता के साथ ही लौटूंगा, अथवा रावण सहित पूरी लंका को उखाड़कर यहाँ ले आऊंगा।
English Commentary
This is the ultimate assertion of success. Hanuman offers a binary outcome: either he returns with Sita, or he brings the entire geographical location of Lanka, including Ravana, to the feet of the Vanaras. The word samutpāṭya (uprooting) conveys raw physical power resembling the later feat of lifting the Sanjeevani mountain. By engaging in such bold rhetoric, he completely eradicates any doubt regarding the mission's success. He guarantees that the distance between Rama and Sita will be bridged, one way or another.

यह हनुमान जी के संकल्प की पराकाष्ठा (climax) है। 'सर्वथा कृतकार्यो'—अर्थात् असफलता का कोई विकल्प ही नहीं है। अंतिम विकल्प के रूप में, वे पूरी लंका नगरी को ही उखाड़कर (समुत्पाट्य) समुद्र के इस पार लाने की बात करते हैं। यह अतिशयोक्ति नहीं, बल्कि उनके 'महाबल' का वास्तविक प्रमाण है। जो हनुमान द्रोणागिरी पर्वत ला सकते हैं, उनके लिए एक द्वीप को उखाड़ना असंभव नहीं। यह वचन वानरों के भय और संदेह को पूरी तरह समाप्त करने के लिए था।
