तस्य वेगसमाधूतैः पुष्पैस्तोयमदृश्यत ॥ ॥५-१-५५॥
tasya vegasamādhūtaiḥ puṣpaistoyamadṛśyata ॥5-1-55॥
Translation
The water of the ocean was invisible, being covered by the flowers shaken off by his speed.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हनुमान जी के वेग से झड़े हुए उन (प्रचुर) फूलों से समुद्र का जल (ढक जाने के कारण) दिखाई ही नहीं दे रहा था।
English Commentary
Though brief, this verse conveys the immense scale of the event. The quantity of flowers dislodged by Hanuman’s velocity was so vast that they formed a carpet over the ocean, rendering the water underneath invisible (toyamadṛśyata). This implies a complete transformation of the environment. The terrifying, dark depths of the ocean are momentarily masked by a layer of beauty and fragrance. It metaphorically suggests that the sheer force of righteous action (Hanuman's leap) can cover the most formidable obstacles (the ocean) with grace and beauty.
हिंदी टीका
यह एक छोटी किन्तु प्रभावपूर्ण पंक्ति है जो फूलों की मात्रा (परिमाण) को दर्शाती है। हनुमान जी का वेग इतना तीव्र था और वृक्ष इतने अधिक थे कि उनसे झड़े हुए फूलों ने विशाल समुद्र के एक बड़े भाग को पूरी तरह ढक लिया। 'तोयमदृश्यत' (जल नहीं दिख रहा था) यह अतिशयोक्ति अलंकार प्रतीत हो सकता है, किन्तु यह कवि की उस भावना को व्यक्त करता है कि उस क्षण समुद्र की भयानकता फूलों की कोमलता के नीचे छिप गई थी। यह दृश्य उस मार्ग की पवित्रता और हनुमान जी के कार्य की दिव्यता को भी सूचित करता है, मानो प्रकृति ने उनके लिए समुद्र पर पुष्पों का आसन बिछा दिया हो।
