चक्षुषी संप्रकाशेते चन्द्रसूर्याविवोदितौ ।
मुखं नासिकया तस्य ताम्रया ताम्रमाबभौ ॥ ॥५-१-६०॥
cakṣuṣī saṃprakāśete candrasūryāvivoditau |
mukhaṃ nāsikayā tasya tāmrayā tāmramābabhau ॥5-1-60॥
Translation
His eyes shone like the sun and the moon risen together. His face glowed with a coppery hue due to his copper-colored nose.

उनकी दोनों आँखें एक साथ उदित हुए सूर्य और चंद्रमा के समान चमक रही थीं। उनकी तांबे जैसी लाल नाक के कारण उनका मुख ताम्रवर्ण का (लालिमा युक्त) सुशोभित हो रहा था।
English Commentary
The poet elevates the description of Hanuman's eyes to a cosmic level, comparing them to the Sun and Moon rising simultaneously (candrasūryāvivoditau). This implies a brilliance that dispels darkness, fitting for one who is removing the darkness of Sita's unknown whereabouts. The second line focuses on his nose, described as tāmrayā (copper-colored/red). The reflection of this redness gave his entire face a coppery glow. This specific detail about the red nose and face grounds the celestial metaphors in the physical reality of his Vanara form, blending divinity with his natural species characteristics.

यहाँ हनुमान जी के नेत्रों के लिए एक और भव्य उपमा दी गई है—'सूर्य और चंद्रमा'। यह उपमा उनकी दृष्टि में 'तेज' (सूर्य जैसी प्रखरता) और 'शीतलता' (चंद्रमा जैसी सौम्यता/भक्ति) के संतुलन को दिखा सकती है। अथवा, यह उनकी आँखों के विशाल आकार और चमक को दर्शाती है। अगली पंक्ति में उनकी नासिका का वर्णन है जो 'ताम्र' (तांबे) के रंग की है। लाल नाक वानरों का स्वाभाविक लक्षण है। उस लाल नाक की आभा से उनका पूरा मुखमंडल रक्तिम आभा से युक्त हो गया है, जो 'वीर रस' के अनुरूप क्रोध और उत्साह का रंग भी है।
