कक्षान्तरगतो वायुर्जीमूत इव गर्जति ।
खे यथा निपतन्त्युल्का ह्युत्तरान्ताद्विनिःसृता ॥ ॥५-१-६५॥
kakṣāntaragato vāyurjīmūta iva garjati |
khe yathā nipatantyulkā hyuttarāntādviniḥsṛtā ॥5-1-65॥
Translation
The wind passing through his armpits roared like a thundercloud. In the sky, he looked like a meteor slipping from the northern horizon and falling.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हनुमान जी की कांख (बगल) में फंसी हुई हवा बादलों की तरह गरज रही थी। वे आकाश में ऐसे लग रहे थे मानो उत्तर दिशा से निकलकर कोई उल्का (टूटता हुआ तारा) गिर रही हो।
English Commentary
This verse adds an auditory dimension to the visual spectacle. The speed of Hanuman is so great that the air trapped in his armpits (kakṣāntaragato vāyuḥ) creates a roaring sound similar to a thundercloud (jīmūta iva garjati). This suggests massive aerodynamic force. Visually, his rapid streak across the sky is compared to a falling meteor (ulkā) originating from the north. The comparison to a meteor emphasizes both his speed and his fiery energy (tejas).

यहाँ ध्वनि और दृश्य दोनों का अद्भुत चित्रण है। १. ध्वनि: हनुमान जी का वेग इतना तीव्र है कि उनकी भुजाओं और शरीर के बीच (कांख में) हवा फंसकर तेज आवाज कर रही है, जिसे 'जीमूत इव गर्जति' (बादल की तरह गर्जना) कहा गया है। यह आधुनिक 'सोनिक बूम' (Sonic boom) जैसा चित्रण प्रतीत होता है। २. दृश्य: उनकी गति और चमकती हुई पूंछ के कारण वे आकाश से गिरती हुई उल्का (Meteor) जैसे लग रहे हैं। 'उत्तरान्तात' (उत्तर दिशा से) का प्रयोग शायद इसलिए है क्योंकि उल्काएं अक्सर उत्तर से दक्षिण की ओर जाती हुई देखी जाती हैं, या यह एक शुभ संकेत हो सकता है।
