तस्य वेगसमुद्धूतं जलं सजलदं तदा ।
अम्बर्स्थं विबभ्राज शारदाभ्रमिवाततम् ॥ ॥५-१-७३॥
tasya vegasamuddhūtaṃ jalaṃ sajaladaṃ tadā । ambaraṃsthaṃ vibabhrāja śāradābhramivātatam ॥ ॥5-1-73॥
Translation
The water, tossed up by his speed along with aquatic creatures, remained suspended in the sky and shone like the spread-out clouds of the autumn season.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हनुमान के वेग से ऊपर उछला हुआ वह जल, जल-जंतुओं सहित आकाश में ठहरकर शरद्-ऋतु के बादलों जैसा सुशोभित हुआ।
English Commentary
This verse employs vivid imagery to illustrate the sheer kinetic energy generated by Hanuman. The displacement of water is so massive that the spray and splash do not immediately fall back but remain suspended momentarily in the sky. The poet uses the simile of "autumn clouds" (śāradābhram). Unlike the dark, heavy rain clouds of the monsoon, autumn clouds are white and fluffy. The sea spray, white with foam, mimics these clouds. It emphasizes that Hanuman’s flight is not merely a movement through air but a phenomenon that disrupts the elemental state of the ocean itself.
हिंदी टीका
महर्षि वाल्मीकि यहाँ हनुमान जी के वेग की तीव्रता का वर्णन कर रहे हैं। जब हनुमान जी ने समुद्र से छलांग लगाई, तो उनके वेग से समुद्र का जल भी आकाश की ओर खिंच गया। कवि यहाँ एक सुंदर उपमा का प्रयोग करते हैं—'शारदाभ्रमिवाततम्' अर्थात शरद् ऋतु के बादलों के समान। वर्षा ऋतु के बादल काले होते हैं, किन्तु शरद् ऋतु के बादल श्वेत और स्वच्छ होते हैं। उछला हुआ समुद्री जल झाग के कारण श्वेत दिखाई दे रहा है, जो आकाश में स्थिर होकर बादलों का भ्रम उत्पन्न कर रहा है। यह दृश्य हनुमान जी की शक्ति और गति के प्रभाव को चित्रित करता है।
