पाण्डुरारुणवर्णानि नीलमाञ्जिष्ठकानि च ।
कपिनाकृष्यमाणानि महाभ्राणि चकाशिरे ॥ ॥५-१-८१॥
pāṇḍurāruṇavarṇāni nīlamāñjiṣṭhakāni ca । kapinākṛṣyamāṇāni mahābhrāṇi cakāśire ॥ ॥5-1-81॥
Translation
Being dragged by the monkey, the great clouds of white, red, blue, and madder colors shone brilliantly.

उस वानर द्वारा खींचे जाते हुए श्वेत, लाल, नीले और मजीठ (गहरे लाल) रंग के विशाल बादल बहुत शोभा पा रहे थे।
English Commentary
Valmiki acts as a painter in this verse, listing the specific hues of the clouds disturbed by Hanuman: pāṇḍura (pale white/yellowish), aruṇa (dawn-red), nīla (blue/dark), and māñjiṣṭha (madder-red). These colors suggest the interplay of light and shadow on the clouds as they are swirled around by Hanuman’s passage. It turns the sky into a dynamic, colorful canvas. कवि यहाँ आकाश की सुंदरता का वर्णन रंगों के माध्यम से कर रहे हैं। हनुमान जी के वेग से जो बादल खिंचे चले आ रहे हैं, वे विभिन्न रंगों के हैं—पाण्डुर (सफेद/पीला), अरुण (लाल), नील, और माञ्जिष्ठ (मजीठ जैसा गहरा लाल)। यह संभवतः सूर्योदय या सूर्यास्त के समय का, या विभिन्न घनत्व वाले बादलों का दृश्य हो सकता है। हनुमान जी की उपस्थिति इन बादलों को 'गति' प्रदान कर रही है, जिससे आकाश में एक रंगीन उत्सव जैसा दृश्य उत्पन्न हो गया है।
