प्रविशन्नभ्रजालानिनिष्पतंश्च पुनः पुनः ।
प्रच्चन्नश्च प्रकाशश्च चन्द्रमा इव लक्ष्यते ॥ ॥५-१-८२॥
praviśannabhrajālāniniṣpataṃśca punaḥ punaḥ । praccannaśca prakāśaśca candramā iva lakṣyate ॥ ॥5-1-82॥
Translation
Entering the clusters of clouds and emerging again and again, now hidden and now visible, he looked like the moon.

बादलों के समूह में बार-बार प्रवेश करते हुए और उनसे बाहर निकलते हुए, कभी छिपे हुए और कभी प्रकट होते हुए वे (हनुमान) चन्द्रमा के समान दिखाई देते थे।
English Commentary
This verse uses a classic literary trope found in Indian epics: the moon playing hide-and-seek with the clouds. By comparing Hanuman to the moon (candramā), the poet attributes a sense of grace and luminosity to him. Despite his terrifying speed and size described earlier, there is a rhythmic beauty to his flight—disappearing into the mist (praccanna) and bursting forth into visibility (prakāśa). It softens the imagery from aggressive power to celestial beauty.

संस्कृत साहित्य में यह एक बहुत ही प्रसिद्ध उपमा है। जैसे चंद्रमा बादलों की ओट में कभी छिपता है और कभी दिखता है, वैसे ही हनुमान जी बादलों को चीरते हुए आगे बढ़ रहे हैं। जब वे बादलों में घुसते हैं तो 'प्रच्छन्न' (गुप्त) हो जाते हैं, और जब बाहर आते हैं तो 'प्रकाश' (दिखाई देने वाले) हो जाते हैं। यह लुका-छिपी का खेल उनकी यात्रा को एक लय (rhythm) और सुंदरता प्रदान करता है। यहाँ हनुमान जी की सौम्यता और उज्ज्वलता की तुलना चंद्रमा से की गई है।
