इक्ष्वाकुसचिचश्चायं नावसीदितुमर्हति ।
तथा मया विधातव्यं विश्रमेत यथा कपिः ॥ ॥५-१-९०॥
ikṣvākusacivaścāyaṃ nāvasīditumarhati । tathā mayā vidhātavyaṃ viśrameta yathā kapiḥ ॥ ॥5-1-90॥
Translation
"This minister of the Ikshvakus does not deserve to suffer fatigue. I must arrange it so that the monkey may rest."

"ये (हनुमान) इक्ष्वाकु वंश के सचिव (दूत/मंत्री) हैं, अतः ये कष्ट पाने के योग्य नहीं हैं। मुझे ऐसा उपाय करना चाहिए जिससे यह वानर विश्राम कर सके।"
English Commentary
The Ocean identifies Hanuman as a Saciva (minister/counselor) of the Ikshvakus. This elevates Hanuman’s diplomatic status. The Ocean decides that Hanuman should not succumb to exhaustion (avasīditum). The plan is not to stop the mission but to facilitate it through rest (viśrāma). This demonstrates the Ocean's benevolent intent—he wishes to be a resting station in the long journey, ensuring the messenger remains fit for the task ahead.

सागर हनुमान जी को 'इक्ष्वाकु सचिव' मानते हैं। यद्यपि हनुमान सुग्रीव के मंत्री हैं, किन्तु राम का कार्य करने के कारण वे राम के प्रतिनिधि बन गए हैं। 'नावसीदितुमर्हति'—अर्थात उन्हें थकावट या दुःख नहीं होना चाहिए। सागर की चिंता एक अच्छे मेजबान (host) की तरह है जो अतिथि के आराम का प्रबंध करना चाहता है। उनका उद्देश्य हनुमान की यात्रा को रोकना नहीं, बल्कि उन्हें 'विश्राम' देकर आगे के लिए पुनः ऊर्जावान बनाना है। (नोट: मूल पाठ में 'सचिच' मुद्रित है, जो संभवतः 'सचिव' है।)
