वज्र वैदूर्य गर्भाणि श्रवण अन्तेषु योषिताम् ।
ददर्श तापनीयानि कुण्डलानि अन्गदानि च ॥ ॥५-१०-३३॥
vajra vaidūrya garbhāṇi śravaṇa anteṣu yoṣitām । dadarśa tāpanīyāni kuṇḍalāni aṅgadāni ca ॥ ॥5-10-33॥
Translation
He saw earrings of refined gold inlaid with diamonds and cat's eye gems (Vaidurya) on the ears of those young women, as well as armlets.

हनुमान जी ने उन युवतियों के कानों में हीरे और वैदूर्य (लहसुनिया) मणियों से जड़े हुए तपाये हुए सोने के कुण्डल तथा (भुजाओं में) बाजूबंद देखे।

वाल्मीकि जी यहाँ आभूषणों का सूक्ष्म विवरण देते हैं। कुण्डल केवल सोने के नहीं, बल्कि 'तापनीयानि' (तपाये हुए शुद्ध कुंदन स्वर्ण) के हैं, जिनमें 'वज्र' (हीरा) और 'वैदूर्य' (एक प्रकार का कीमती रत्न) जड़े हैं। 'अन्गदानि' (बाजूबंद) का उल्लेख भी है। यह लंका के अपार धन-धान्य का परिचायक है। हनुमान जी का ध्यान इन आभूषणों पर जाना यह सिद्ध करता है कि वे बहुत बारीकी से निरीक्षण कर रहे थे, शायद यह पहचानने के लिए कि कहीं इनमें से कोई सीता तो नहीं। किन्तु इन राजसी आभूषणों और ठाठ-बाट वाली स्त्रियों में उन्हें सीता के दर्शन की संभावना कम ही लग रही थी, जो वियोग में होंगी।
