Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
वाल व्यजन हस्ताभिर् वीज्यमानम् समन्ततः ।
गन्धैः च विविधैर् जुष्टम् वर धूपेन धूपितम् ॥५-१०-५॥
Vāla vyajana hastābhir vījyamānam samantataḥ । Gandhaiḥ ca vividhair juṣṭam vara dhūpena dhūpitam ॥ ॥5-10-5॥
Translation
It was being fanned on all sides by women holding yak-tail whisks (chowries) in their hands. It was permeated with various fragrances and perfumed with excellent incense.

वह (आसन) चारों ओर से चंवर (वाल व्यजन) हाथ में लिए हुए स्त्रियों द्वारा हवा किया जा रहा था (संभवतः मूर्तियों या चित्रों के रूप में, या सेविकाओं द्वारा)। वह विविध प्रकार के सुगंधित पदार्थों से युक्त था और श्रेष्ठ धूप से सुवासित था।
