तत्र तत्र च विन्यस्तैः सुश्लिष्टैः शयन आसनैः ।
पान भूमिर् विना वह्निम् प्रदीप्ता इव उपलक्ष्यते ॥ ॥५-११-१८॥
tatra tatra ca vinyastaiḥ suśliṣṭaiḥ śayana āsanaiḥ । pāna bhūmir vinā vahnim pradīptā iva upalakṣyate ॥ ॥5-11-18॥
Translation
With well-arranged and comfortable couches and seats placed here and there, the drinking hall appeared to be ablaze (illuminated) even without fire.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जहाँ-तहाँ रखे हुए सुंदर और आरामदायक शय्या-आसनों (sofas/couches) के कारण वह पानभूमि बिना अग्नि के ही प्रदीप्त (प्रकाशमान) सी दिखाई दे रही थी।
English Commentary
This verse emphasizes the luminosity of the furniture. The couches and seats (shayana-asanaih) were likely inlaid with gold and gems, radiating enough light to make the room feel "illuminated" (pradipta) without an actual fire. This indicates the self-effulgent nature of the wealth in Lanka. It also contrasts the artificial light of material wealth with the spiritual light (Tejas) of Hanuman, who is observing this scene.
हिंदी टीका
पानभूमि में रखे फर्नीचर का वर्णन यहाँ किया गया है। 'सुश्लिष्टैः' का अर्थ है बहुत सलीके से बनाए गए या आरामदायक। वे आसन (शायद सोने या रत्नजड़ित) इतने चमकदार थे कि उनसे निकलने वाली आभा ने पूरे कक्ष को रोशन कर रखा था। 'विना वह्निम् प्रदीप्ता इव' (बिना आग के जलती हुई सी) एक बहुत ही सशक्त उपमा है, जो वहाँ के स्वर्ण और मणियों की चमक (radiance) को दर्शाती है। हनुमान जी अँधेरे में भी उस स्थान की चमक देख पा रहे थे।
