Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
बहुधा मारुतः तत्र गन्धम् विविधम् उद्वहन् ।
स्नानानाम् चन्दनानाम् च धूपानाम् चैव मूर्चितः ।
प्रववौ सुरभिर् गन्धो विमाने पुष्पके तदा ॥ ॥५-११-३२॥
bahudhā mārutaḥ tatra gandham vividham udvahan । snānānām candanānām ca dhūpānām caiva mūrcitaḥ । pravavau surabhir gandho vimāne puṣpake tadā ॥ ॥5-11-32॥
Translation
Carrying various fragrances in many ways—of bath powders, sandalwoods, and incense—the wind, pervaded/heavy with them, blew fragrantly in the Pushpaka Vimana then.

वहाँ स्नान के चूर्णों, चंदनों और धूपों की विविध गंधों को धारण करता हुआ, उनसे मूर्छित (बोझिल/व्याप्त) होकर, वह सुगंधित पवन पुष्पक विमान में बह रहा था।
English Commentary
The wind itself is personified here as being Murchita—which can mean 'fainted', 'thickened', or 'saturated'. The air is heavy with the scent of luxury: bath powders, incense, and perfumes. It suggests an atmosphere that dulls the senses and induces drowsiness. This setting is crucial because it tests Hanuman's alertness; he must remain sharp in an atmosphere designed to induce lethargy and intoxication.

यहाँ वायु को 'मूर्चितः' (व्याप्त/heavy) कहा गया है। इसका अर्थ है कि हवा सुगंध से इतनी भर गई थी कि वह भारी हो गई थी। 'स्नानानाम्' का अर्थ है स्नान के लिए प्रयुक्त अंगराग या उबटन। पुष्पक विमान का वेंटिलेशन सिस्टम (वातायन) ऐसा था कि यह सुगंधित हवा बाहर जाने के बजाय अंदर ही घूम रही थी, जिससे एक नशीला वातावरण बन गया था। यह रावण के विलास का 'आभामंडल' (aura) है।
