शुभ अशुभास्व् अवस्थासु तच् च मे सुव्यवस्थितम् ।
न अन्यत्र हि मया शक्या वैदेही परिमार्गितुम् ॥ ॥५-११-४२॥
Śubhāśubhāsvavasthāsu tacca me suvyavasthitam |
Nānyatra hi mayā śakyā vaidehī parimārgitum ॥5-11-42॥
Translation
My mind remains firmly established and stable amidst all states, whether auspicious or inauspicious. Furthermore, it is not possible for me to search for Vaidehi (Sita) anywhere else.
हिंदी अनुवाद
शुभ और अशुभ सभी अवस्थाओं में वह मेरा मन भली-भाँति स्थिर है। (फिर यहाँ खोजना मेरी विवशता भी है क्योंकि) रावण द्वारा अपहृत वैदेही (सीता) को अन्यत्र कहीं खोजा भी तो नहीं जा सकता।

Hanuman reinforces his purity while simultaneously offering a pragmatic justification for his location. The phrase Śubhāśubhāsu avasthāsu indicates a state of equanimity, where the mind is not swayed by the duality of agreeable or disagreeable circumstances. After settling the spiritual concern, he addresses the logistical necessity: logic dictates that a kidnapped woman held by a hedonistic king like Ravana would likely be kept in the inner apartments (Antahpura). To find Sita, he must search here; there is no alternative. This highlights Hanuman's capacity for deductive reasoning (Yukti). He is not wandering aimlessly; his presence in the harem is a calculated strategic move essential for the mission's success. It illustrates the balance between maintaining personal virtue and fulfilling a critical duty.

हनुमान जी यहाँ अपनी मानसिक स्थिरता के साथ-साथ अपनी खोज की व्यावहारिक विवशता और तर्कशक्ति का भी परिचय देते हैं। पहले चरण में वे पुनः दोहराते हैं कि चाहे परिस्थिति शुभ हो या अशुभ, उनका मन 'सुव्यवस्थित' है। दूसरे चरण में वे 'आपद्धर्म' और तर्क का सहारा लेते हैं। चूंकि रावण सीता का अपहरण करके लाया है, अतः सीता के रावण के अंतःपुर में होने की संभावना सर्वाधिक है। एक अन्वेषक (गुप्तचर) को वहीं खोजना होगा जहाँ वस्तु के होने की संभावना हो, भले ही वह स्थान निषिद्ध क्यों न हो। यह श्लोक सिद्ध करता है कि हनुमान जी केवल भावुक भक्त नहीं, अपितु एक तर्कशील और बुद्धिमान वानर हैं जो परिस्थिति के अनुसार धर्म और कर्तव्य का संतुलन बनाना जानते हैं।
