Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
कथं नु खलु कर्तव्यं विषमं प्रतिभाति मे ।
अस्मिन्नेवं गते कार्ये प्राप्तकालं क्षमं च किम् ॥ ॥५-१३-१९॥
Kathaṃ nu khalu kartavyaṃ viṣamaṃ pratibhāti me । Asminnevaṃ gate kārye prāpta-kālaṃ kṣamaṃ ca kim ॥ ॥5-13-19॥
Translation
What indeed should be done? This situation appears very difficult to me. Under such circumstances, what is the timely and appropriate course of action?

अब मुझे क्या करना चाहिए? यह स्थिति मुझे अत्यंत विषम (कठिन) प्रतीत हो रही है। कार्य की ऐसी गति होने पर इस समय (प्राप्तकाल) क्या उचित और समर्थ उपाय है?
English Commentary
Shifting from emotional turmoil to strategic calculation, Hanuman seeks the prapta-kalam—the action best suited for the specific time and context. He acknowledges the vishamam (difficulty/unevenness) of the situation but refuses to remain paralyzed. This internal questioning marks the beginning of his resolve. He is searching for a solution that balances his duty to the mission with the safety of his master. It is a classic example of Viveka (discriminative wisdom) in the face of crisis.

विषाद के पश्चात अब हनुमान जी 'विमर्श' (विचार) की ओर बढ़ रहे हैं। 'विषमं प्रतिभाति'—स्थिति विकट है, भावनाएं हावी हैं, फिर भी वे बौद्धिक समाधान खोज रहे हैं। 'प्राप्तकालं' (Timely/Opportunistic) शब्द अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है। राजनीति और युद्धनीति में समय के अनुकूल निर्णय लेना ही बुद्धिमत्ता है। वे सोच रहे हैं कि भावनाओं में बहने के बजाय, अभी की परिस्थिति (Status quo) में सबसे व्यावहारिक कदम क्या होगा? यह श्लोक एक नेता और रणनीतिकार के रूप में हनुमान जी के व्यक्तित्व को उभारता है।
