उदतिष्ठन् महा बाहुर् हनूमान् मारुत आत्मजः ।
नमो अस्तु रामाय सलक्ष्मणाय ।
देव्यै च तस्यै जनक आत्मजायै ।
नमो अस्तु रुद्र इन्द्र यम अनिलेभ्यो ।
नमो अस्तु चन्द्र अर्क मरुद् गणेभ्यः ॥५-१३-५९॥
udatiṣṭhan mahā bāhur hanūmān māruta ātmajaḥ |
namo astu rāmāya salakṣmaṇāya |
devyai ca tasyai janaka ātmajāyai |
namo astu rudra indra yama anilebhyo |
namo astu candra arka marud gaṇebhyaḥ ॥5-13-59॥
Translation
(Then) The mighty-armed Hanuman, son of the Wind, stood up (and prayed): "Salutations to Rama along with Lakshmana! Salutations to that Goddess, the daughter of Janaka! Salutations to Rudra, Indra, Yama, and Anil (Wind)! Salutations to the Moon, the Sun, and the Marut hosts!"

(तब) महाबाहु पवनपुत्र हनुमान उठ खड़े हुए (और बोले)—"लक्ष्मण सहित श्री राम को नमस्कार हो! जनकनन्दिनी उस देवी (सीता) को नमस्कार हो! रुद्र, इन्द्र, यम और अग्निदेव को नमस्कार हो! चन्द्रमा, सूर्य और मरुद्गणों को नमस्कार हो!"
English Commentary
This is one of the most celebrated verses in the Sundarakanda. It serves as Hanuman's war cry of prayer before his breakthrough. He stands up (udatiṣṭhan), physically signaling the end of his depressive inaction. The hierarchy of his prayer is instructive: first Rama and Lakshmana (the Masters), then Sita (the Goal), then the cosmic administrators (Rudra, Indra, Yama, Wind, Moon, Sun, Maruts). By invoking these specific deities, he aligns himself with the cosmic order (Rta), ensuring that the elements favor his search. The mention of 'Anila' (Wind) and 'Marut' implies seeking blessings from his own father and kin. It is a complete surrender and a summoning of divine energy.

यह रामायण का एक अत्यंत प्रसिद्ध और सिद्ध मंत्र माना जाता है। अशोक वाटिका में प्रवेश करने से ठीक पूर्व हनुमान जी यह मंगलाचरण करते हैं। इसमें वे सबसे पहले अपने इष्ट 'रामाय सलक्ष्मणाय' को नमन करते हैं, जो उनकी शक्ति का स्रोत हैं। फिर वे अपने लक्ष्य 'जनक आत्मजायै' (सीता) को नमन करते हैं। इसके बाद वे दिक्पालों और प्राकृतिक शक्तियों (रुद्र, इन्द्र, यम, अग्नि, चंद्र, सूर्य, मरुत) का आवाहन करते हैं। यह प्रार्थना केवल भक्ति नहीं, बल्कि ब्रह्मांडीय शक्तियों के साथ तालमेल बिठाने का प्रयास है। 'उदतिष्ठन्' (उठ खड़े हुए) दर्शाता है कि अब विषाद समाप्त हो चुका है और वे कर्म के लिए तत्पर हैं। यह श्लोक संकट के समय विजय प्राप्ति के लिए भक्तों द्वारा भी जपा जाता है।
