सम्क्षिप्तो अयम् मया आत्मा च राम अर्थे रावणस्य च ।
सिद्धिम् मे सम्विधास्यन्ति देवाः सर्षि गणाः त्व् इह ॥ ॥५-१३-६४॥
saṃkṣipto ayam mayā ātmā ca rāma arthe rāvaṇasya ca |
siddhim me saṃvidhāsyanti devāḥ sarṣi gaṇāḥ tv iha ॥5-13-64॥
Translation
For the sake of Rama's cause and for (dealing with) Ravana, I have contracted my body (made it minute). May the gods, along with the hosts of sages, ordain success for me here.
हिंदी अनुवाद
श्री राम के कार्य और रावण (के विनाश) के लिए मैंने अपने शरीर को अत्यंत सूक्ष्म (छोटा) कर लिया है। अब देवता और ऋषियों के समूह मुझे यहाँ कार्य में सिद्धि (सफलता) प्रदान करें।
English Commentary
This verse highlights the synthesis of strategic action and spiritual surrender in Hanuman. The phrase "samkshipto ayam maya atma" refers to his use of Laghima (the ability to become weightless/minute), one of the eight yogic siddhis. By shrinking his form, he aims to evade detection by Ravana’s guards. However, despite his immense personal prowess, he does not rely solely on his strength. His prayer to the gods and sages signifies humility; he understands that while effort is in his hands, the ultimate fruit of action (siddhi) depends on divine grace. It marks a pivot from his earlier despondency to a state of prayerful action.

इस श्लोक में हनुमान जी की रणनीतिक बुद्धिमत्ता और उनकी भक्ति का अद्भुत संगम देखने को मिलता है। 'सम्क्षिप्तो अयम् मया आत्मा' से तात्पर्य अष्टसिद्धियों में से एक 'लघिमा' का प्रयोग है, जिसके द्वारा उन्होंने विशालकाय रूप त्याग कर सूक्ष्म रूप धारण किया है ताकि वे लंका में अलक्षित रह सकें। यद्यपि वे स्वयं अत्यंत शक्तिशाली हैं, फिर भी वे अहंकार से मुक्त हैं। वे अपनी सफलता का श्रेय अपनी शक्ति को नहीं, बल्कि दैवीय कृपा और ऋषियों के आशीर्वाद को देना चाहते हैं। यह श्लोक यह सिखाता है कि महान से महान कार्य में भी मानवीय प्रयास (छोटा रूप धारण करना) और दैवीय कृपा (प्रार्थना) दोनों आवश्यक हैं।
