Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
मन्ये पतितमार्याया हृदयं प्रेक्ष्य सागरम् ।
रावणस्योरुवेगेन भुजाभ्यां पीडितेन च ॥ ॥५-१३-९॥
Manye patitam āryāyā hṛdayaṃ prekṣya sāgaram । Rāvaṇasya ūru-vegena bhujābhyāṃ pīḍitena ca ॥ ॥5-13-9॥
Translation
I think the noble lady's heart might have failed seeing the ocean below, and due to the speed of Ravana's thighs and the crushing pressure of his arms.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं मानता हूँ कि उस आर्या (सीता) का हृदय नीचे सागर को देखकर, तथा रावण की जांघों के वेग और उसकी भुजाओं की जकड़न (पीड़ा) से रुक गया (गिर गया) होगा।
English Commentary
This is a graphic and distressing visualization of the abduction. Hanuman considers the physiological and psychological shock Sita must have endured. He attributes a potential death to three causes: the visual terror of the vast ocean below, the sheer velocity of Ravana’s flight (uru-vega), and the physical crushing by Ravana’s arms. The term Arya reminds us of her delicate, noble upbringing, contrasting sharply with the brute force of the demon. Hanuman hypothesizes that the sheer trauma of the event caused her heart to fail.

यह श्लोक अत्यंत करुण और वीभत्स रस के निकट है। हनुमान जी सीता जी की सुकुमारता और रावण की क्रूरता की तुलना कर रहे हैं। 'रावणस्योरुवेगेन' (रावण की जांघों/उड़ान के वेग से) और 'भुजाभ्यां पीडितेन' (भुजाओं की जकड़न) से उत्पन्न शारीरिक कष्ट, और ऊपर से विशाल समुद्र को देखने से उत्पन्न मानसिक भय—इन सब कारणों से हनुमान जी को आशंका है कि सीता जी का हृदयाघात (Heart failure) हो गया होगा। 'हृदयं पतितम्' का अर्थ यहाँ प्राण पखेरू उड़ जाना है। यह हनुमान जी की गहरी संवेदना को दर्शाता है।
