Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
उत्पतद्भिर् द्विज गणैः पक्षैः सालाः समाहताः ।
अनेक वर्णा विविधा मुमुचुः पुष्प वृष्टयः ॥ ॥५-१४-१०॥
utpatadbhir dvija gaṇaiḥ pakṣaiḥ sālāḥ samāhatāḥ । aneka varṇā vividhā mumucuḥ puṣpa vṛṣṭayaḥ ॥ ॥5-14-10॥
Translation
Struck by the wings of the flocks of birds flying upwards, the trees released showers of flowers of various colors and kinds.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(हनुमान के कारण) ऊपर उड़ते हुए पक्षियों के पंखों की फड़फड़ाहट से वृक्षों की शाखाएं आहत हुईं (हिल गयीं), जिससे अनेक रंगों वाले विविध प्रकार के फूलों की वर्षा होने लगी।
English Commentary
The imagery here is strictly kinetic and visual. Valmiki constructs a chain reaction: Hanuman's movement startles the birds -> birds fly up -> wings strike the branches (pakṣaiḥ sālāḥ samāhatāḥ) -> trees shed flowers. The result is puṣpa vṛṣṭayaḥ (showers of flowers). This serves a dual literary purpose: it realistically describes the physics of a large monkey moving through trees, but poetically, it creates a celebratory atmosphere. Unknowingly, the startled nature honors the messenger of Rama with a rain of blossoms. The use of vividhā (various kinds) emphasizes the richness of the flora being disturbed.

यहाँ एक सुंदर कार्य-कारण (cause and effect) श्रृंखला का वर्णन है। हनुमान की गति ने पक्षियों को जगाया, पक्षियों के उड़ने से उनके पंख वृक्षों से टकराए, और उस आघात से फूलों की वर्षा हुई। 'मुमुचुः पुष्प वृष्टयः' (फूलों की वर्षा छोड़ दी) एक अत्यंत मनोरम दृश्य प्रस्तुत करता है। यद्यपि हनुमान एक योद्धा हैं, परंतु उनकी उपस्थिति से प्रकृति का जो रूप सामने आ रहा है वह विध्वंसक नहीं, बल्कि उत्सवपूर्ण है। जैसे प्रकृति स्वयं उनका स्वागत पुष्प-वर्षा से कर रही हो। वाल्मीकि जी ने यहाँ 'अनेक वर्णा' शब्द का प्रयोग करके दृश्य को रंगीन और सजीव बना दिया है।
