दिशः सर्व अभिदावन्तम् वृक्ष षण्ड गतम् कपिम् ।
द्Rष्ट्वा सर्वाणि भूतानि वसन्त इति मेनिरे ॥ ॥५-१४-१२॥
diśaḥ sarva abhidāvantam vṛkṣa ṣaṇḍa gatam kapim । dṛṣṭvā sarvāṇi bhūtāni vasanta iti menire ॥ ॥5-14-12॥
Translation
Seeing the monkey moving in all directions amidst the clusters of trees, all living beings thought he was the Spring season itself.

वृक्षों के समूहों के बीच सब दिशाओं में दौड़ते हुए उस वानर को देखकर समस्त प्राणियों ने ऐसा माना कि साक्षात वसन्त ऋतु ही विचरण कर रही है।
English Commentary
This verse employs a powerful metaphor wherein Hanuman represents the generative and transformative force of Vasanta (Spring). As he dashes (abhidāvantam) through the vṛkṣa ṣaṇḍa (clumps of trees), the resulting cascade of flowers and swaying branches confuses the local fauna. They mistake the kinetic energy of the Vanara for the arrival of the spring season. This implies that Hanuman's presence, though potentially destructive to the Rakshasas, is fundamentally a force of nature—vital, overwhelming, and inevitable. It elevates Hanuman from a mere spy to an elemental force.

यह श्लोक 'भ्रांतिमान अलंकार' का उत्कृष्ट उदाहरण है। हनुमान की गति के कारण वृक्ष हिल रहे हैं और फूल झड़ रहे हैं। इस दृश्य को देखकर वहां के जीवों (भूतानि) को लगा कि असमय ही वसंत आ गया है। वसंत में जैसे हवा चलने से पुराने पत्ते और फूल गिरते हैं और पराग उड़ता है, ठीक वैसा ही प्रभाव हनुमान उत्पन्न कर रहे थे। 'वसन्त इति मेनिरे' (वसंत है, ऐसा माना) यह दर्शाता है कि हनुमान की ऊर्जा जीवनदायी और परिवर्तनकारी है। उनका आगमन लंका के लिए एक नए काल (परिवर्तन) का सूचक है, जैसे वसंत ऋतु परिवर्तन लाती है।
