Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अथ आम्र वण सम्चन्नाम् लता शत समावृताम् ।
ज्या मुक्त इव नाराचः पुप्लुवे वृक्ष वाटिकाम् ॥ ॥५-१४-४॥
atha āmra vaṇa samcannām latā śata samāvṛtām |
jyā mukta iva nārācaḥ pupluve vṛkṣa vāṭikām ॥5-14-4॥
Translation
Then, into that garden of trees, covered with mango groves and encircled by hundreds of creepers, he leaped like an iron arrow released from a bowstring.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तत्पश्चात, आम के वनों से ढकी हुई और सैकड़ों लताओं से घिरी हुई उस वृक्ष-वाटिका में हनुमान जी धनुष की डोरी से छूटे हुए बाण (नाराच) की भाँति कूद पड़े।
English Commentary
A dynamic simile is used here: Hanuman leaps like a Naracha (an iron arrow) released from a bowstring. This conveys immense speed, silence, and directness of purpose. He doesn't just climb down; he shoots himself into the cover of the foliage. The garden is described as dense with mango groves and hundreds of creepers (lata shata), providing excellent camouflage. The contrast between the tangled, soft vegetation and the sharp, arrow-like movement of Hanuman highlights his mastery over his movements—he penetrates the dense cover effortlessly, ready to begin the covert search.

यहाँ हनुमान जी की गति और सटीकता का वर्णन करने के लिए एक वीर रस प्रधान उपमा का प्रयोग किया गया है—'ज्या मुक्त इव नाराचः' (धनुष से छूटे हुए लोहे के बाण के समान)। जिस प्रकार बाण सीधे अपने लक्ष्य की ओर जाता है और हवा को चीरता है, वैसे ही हनुमान जी ने बिना किसी हिचकिचाहट के वाटिका में प्रवेश किया। 'लता शत समावृताम्' (सैकड़ों लताओं से घिरी) से पता चलता है कि वाटिका बहुत सघन थी, फिर भी हनुमान जी ने उसमें कुशलता से प्रवेश किया। यह श्लोक उनके निर्णय लेने की क्षमता और शारीरिक वेग का अद्भुत चित्रण है।
