स पुष्पित अग्राम् रुचिराम् तरुण अन्कुर पल्लवाम् ।
ताम् आरुह्य महा वेगः शिम्शपाम् पर्ण सम्व्Rताम् ॥ ॥५-१४-४१॥
sa puṣpita agrām rucirām taruṇa ankura pallavām । tām āruhya mahā vegaḥ śimśapām parṇa samvṛtām ॥ ॥5-14-41॥
Translation
Climbing that beautiful Shimshapa tree, which had a flowering top, young sprouts and shoots, and was covered with dense foliage, the monkey of great speed (settled there).

वह महावेगशाली वानर, फूलों वाले अग्रभाग (शिखर) से युक्त, सुंदर और नवीन कोपलों व पत्तों वाली, तथा घने पत्तों से ढकी हुई उस शिंशपा वृक्ष पर चढ़ गया।
English Commentary
This is a tactical move. Hanuman ascends (āruhya) the Shimshapa. The description explains why this specific tree was chosen: it is parṇa samvṛtām (covered/concealed by leaves) and has taruṇa ankura pallavām (young sprouts/shoots), providing excellent camouflage. The epithet mahā vegaḥ (great speed) suggests he moved quickly to avoid detection. This establishes his vantage point for the most critical scene of the Sundara Kanda: the discovery of Sita.

हनुमान जी ने रणनीति बनाई और उस शिंशपा वृक्ष पर चढ़ गए ('आरुह्य')। वृक्ष का चुनाव सोच-समझकर किया गया था: 'पर्ण सम्व्Rताम्' (घने पत्तों से ढका हुआ) ताकि वे छिप सकें, और 'पुष्पित अग्राम्' (ऊपर फूल थे) जो ऊंचाई और आवरण दोनों देता है। 'तरुण अन्कुर पल्लवाम्' (नई कोपलें) बताती हैं कि वृक्ष सजीव और घना था। 'महा वेगः' (महावेगशाली) विशेषण उनकी चढ़ने की तत्परता और फुर्ती को दिखाता है। अब वे अवलोकन (Surveillance) की स्थिति में हैं।
