अथवा मृग शाव अक्षी वनस्य अस्य विचक्षणा ।
वनम् एष्यति सा च इह राम चिन्ता अनुकर्शिता ॥ ॥५-१४-४६॥
athavā mṛga śāva akṣī vanasya asya vicakṣaṇā |
vanam eṣyati sā ca iha rāma cintā anukarśitā ॥5-14-46॥
Translation
Or perhaps, she who has eyes like a fawn, who is familiar with this forest (or curious to see it), and who is emaciated by thoughts of Rama, will come here to this forest.

अथवा वह मृग-शावक (हिरण के बच्चे) के समान नेत्रों वाली, इस वन को देखने की इच्छा रखने वाली और राम की चिंता से दुबली हुई सीता यहाँ वन में आएँगी।
English Commentary
Hanuman visualizes Sita before seeing her. The epithet mṛga śāva akṣī (fawn-eyed) evokes innocence, beauty, and perhaps the startled, alert nature of prey in a predator's den. The phrase rāma cintā anukarśitā (emaciated/weighed down by thoughts of Rama) is physically descriptive and emotionally heavy. It suggests that her physical deterioration is a direct result of her mental state—constant meditation on her husband. Hanuman surmises that even in her grief, she might wander this forest, either out of necessity or a faint remnant of her love for nature.

हनुमान जी सीता के रूप और वर्तमान दशा का चित्रण कर रहे हैं। 'मृग शाव अक्षी' (मृग के बच्चे जैसी आँखों वाली) उपमा सीता की मासूमियत, सुंदरता और वर्तमान भयभीत अवस्था को दर्शाती है। 'राम चिंता अनुकर्शिता' एक मार्मिक विशेषण है, जिसका अर्थ है कि राम के वियोग की चिंता ने उन्हें शारीरिक रूप से क्षीण (दुबला) कर दिया है। हनुमान जी यह अनुमान लगा रहे हैं कि शोक में डूबी होने के बावजूद, वन के प्रति उनकी स्वाभाविक जिज्ञासा या आवश्यकता उन्हें बाहर ले आएगी।
