वने चराणाम् सततम् नूनम् स्पृहयते पुरा ।
रामस्य दयिता भार्या जनकस्य सुता सती ॥ ॥५-१४-४८॥
vane carāṇām satatam nūnam spṛhayate purā |
rāmasya dayitā bhāryā janakasya sutā satī ॥5-14-48॥
Translation
The beloved wife of Rama, the daughter of Janaka, the chaste lady, previously always longed for the creatures roaming in the forest.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राम की प्रिय पत्नी, जनक की पुत्री और सती (सीता), पहले वन में विचरने वाले प्राणियों (मृग आदि) को सदा पसंद करती थीं। (अतः वे यहाँ आएँगी)।
English Commentary
Hanuman continues his profiling based on what he likely heard from Rama about Sita's personality. He recalls that purā (in the past/previously), Sita delighted in vane carāṇām (forest creatures). This trait was pivotal in the plot (the Golden Deer incident), and Hanuman uses it now to predict her movements. Identifying her as Janakasya sutā (Janaka’s daughter) invokes her heritage of wisdom and resilience, while Satī emphasizes her unassailable virtue. He expects that despite her trauma, her fundamental nature—a love for living beings—remains intact.

हनुमान जी सीता के पूर्व स्वभाव का स्मरण कर रहे हैं। 'पुरा' (पहले) शब्द इंगित करता है कि सुख के दिनों में सीता वन के जीवों से स्नेह करती थीं (जैसे वह स्वर्ण मृग)। 'जनकस्य सुता' (जनक की पुत्री) कहकर हनुमान जी उनके उच्च संस्कारों और धैर्य को रेखांकित करते हैं, क्योंकि वे विदेह राज जनक की पुत्री हैं जो स्वयं एक राजर्षि थे। 'सती' शब्द उनके पातिव्रत्य धर्म को पुष्ट करता है। हनुमान जी का मानना है कि अपने पुराने स्वभाव के कारण वे पशु-पक्षियों को देखने इस वाटिका में आ सकती हैं।
