पुष्प रत्न शतैः चित्रम् पन्चमम् सागरम् यथा ।
सर्व ऋतु पुष्पैर् निचितम् पादपैर् मधु गन्धिभिः ॥ ॥५-१५-१३॥
puṣpa ratna śataiḥ citram pancamam sāgaram yathā |
sarva ṛtu puṣpair nicitam pādapair madhu gandhibhiḥ ॥5-15-13॥
Translation
Adorned with hundreds of flower-gems, it looked like a fifth ocean. It was filled with trees bearing flowers of all seasons and smelling of honey.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह (उद्यान) पुष्प रूपी सैंकड़ों रत्नों से विचित्र, एक पांचवें सागर के समान लग रहा था। वह सभी ऋतुओं के फूलों और मधु की गंध वाले वृक्षों से भरा था।
English Commentary
Continuing the grand metaphors, Hanuman likens the grove to a pancamam sāgaram (fifth ocean). Just as the ocean is the repository of gems (ratna), this garden is a repository of puṣpa ratna (flower-gems). The expanse and the swaying of flowers in the wind likely evoke the waves of a sea. The madhu gandhibhiḥ (scented with honey) trees add an olfactory dimension, reinforcing the immersive, intoxicating nature of this environment.

पौराणिक भूगोल में चार सागर माने गए हैं। हनुमान जी इस उद्यान की विशालता और रत्नों (फूलों) की बहुतायत देखकर इसे 'पञ्चमम् सागरम्' (पांचवां सागर) कहते हैं। यहाँ फूल ही रत्न हैं ('पुष्प रत्न')। 'मधु गन्धिभिः' (शहद की गंध वाले) वृक्षों से वायु सुगंधित है। यह श्लोक दृश्य (सागर जैसा विस्तार) और घ्राण (सुगंध) दोनों इंद्रियों को संतुष्ट करता है।
