Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
नाना निनादैः उद्यानम् रम्यम् मृग गणैर् द्विजैः ।
अनेक गन्ध प्रवहम् पुण्य गन्धम् मनो रमम् ॥ ॥५-१५-१४॥
nānā ninādaiḥ udyānam ramyam mṛga gaṇair dvijaiḥ |
aneka gandha pravaham puṇya gandham mano ramam ॥5-15-14॥
Translation
That beautiful garden resounded with the various sounds of herds of animals and birds. Wafting many fragrances, possessing a holy scent, it was delighting the mind.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह रमणीय उद्यान पशुओं और पक्षियों (द्विज) की नाना प्रकार की ध्वनियों से गूंज रहा था। वहां अनेक प्रकार की गंध बह रही थी, वह पवित्र गंध वाला और मन को मोहने वाला था।
English Commentary
This verse synthesizes the auditory and olfactory experiences. The garden is alive with nānā ninādaiḥ (diverse sounds) of fauna. It is a carrier of aneka gandha (manifold fragrances). Interestingly, Hanuman describes the scent as puṇya gandham (holy/pure fragrance), acknowledging that the natural beauty remains untainted by the moral corruption of its owner, Ravana. Describing it as mano ramam (pleasing to the mind) confirms that the grove's beauty is objective and compelling, affecting even a stoic observer like Hanuman.

सर्ग 15 के इस भाग का समापन हनुमान जी द्वारा उद्यान के संवेदी अनुभव (sensory experience) के साथ होता है। 'नाना निनादैः' (विविध ध्वनियाँ) इसे जीवंत बनाती हैं। 'पुण्य गन्धम्' (पवित्र गंध) शब्द महत्वपूर्ण है; यद्यपि यह राक्षसों का स्थान है, परन्तु प्रकृति यहाँ शुद्ध और पवित्र है। 'मनो रमम्' (मन को रमाने वाला) - हनुमान जी जैसे जितेंद्रिय वानर का मन भी यहाँ के सौंदर्य को स्वीकार कर रहा है, जो इसकी उत्कृष्टता का प्रमाण है।
