तर्कयाम् आस सीता इति कारणैः उपपादिभिः ।
ह्रियमाणा तदा तेन रक्षसा काम रूपिणा ॥५-१५-२७॥
tarkayām āsa sītā iti kāraṇaiḥ upapādibhiḥ । hriyamāṇā tadā tena rakṣasā kāma rūpiṇā ॥ ॥5-15-27॥
Translation
Hanuman reasoned based on logical grounds that this was indeed Sita, the same woman who was being abducted then by that shape-shifting demon (Ravana).

हनुमान जी ने तर्कसंगत कारणों से अनुमान लगाया कि यह सीता ही हैं, जिन्हें उस समय कामरूपी राक्षस (रावण) द्वारा हर कर ले जाया जा रहा था।
English Commentary
This verse highlights Hanuman’s analytical intellect (buddhi). He does not jump to conclusions; instead, he employs tarka (logical inference). He correlates the visual data before him with the memory of the woman he saw being abducted across the sky by Ravana. The phrase kāraṇaiḥ upapādibhiḥ suggests that his deduction is based on valid proofs and substantial evidence (such as specific jewelry or physical features seen earlier), confirming that this is not an illusion but the reality of Rama’s beloved.

यहाँ हनुमान जी की बुद्धि और तर्कशक्ति (अतिबल और बुद्धिमान) का परिचय मिलता है। 'तर्कयाम् आस' का अर्थ है कि उन्होंने केवल देखा नहीं, बल्कि विश्लेषणात्मक दृष्टि से विचार किया। उन्होंने आकाशमार्ग में जिस स्त्री को रावण के चंगुल में देखा था, उस स्मृति का मिलान वे वर्तमान दृश्य से कर रहे हैं। हनुमान जी ने सीता जी के उन आभूषणों और वस्त्रों को पहचाना जो गिरते समय उन्होंने देखे थे, और उन शारीरिक लक्षणों का भी मिलान किया जो विलाप करती हुई उस स्त्री में थे। यह श्लोक 'प्रत्यभिज्ञा' (recognition) की प्रक्रिया को दर्शाता है।
