सर्व ऋतु कुसुमैः रम्यैः फलवद्भिः च पादपैः ।
पुष्पितानाम् अशोकानाम् श्रिया सूर्य उदय प्रभाम् ॥ ॥५-१५-५॥
sarva ṛtu kusumaiḥ ramyaiḥ phalavadbhiḥ ca pādapaiḥ |
puṣpitānām aśokānām śriyā sūrya udaya prabhām ॥5-15-5॥
Translation
(It was filled) with trees bearing beautiful flowers and fruits of all seasons. With the brilliance of the blossoming Ashoka trees, it possessed the radiance of the rising sun.

वहां सभी ऋतुओं के रमणीय फूलों और फलों वाले वृक्ष थे। फूले हुए अशोक वृक्षों की शोभा से वह स्थान सूर्योदय की प्रभा जैसा चमक रहा था।
English Commentary
The phrase sarva ṛtu kusumaiḥ (flowers of all seasons) implies a suspension of natural laws; in Ravana's domain, nature yields all its bounties simultaneously, likely due to his command over the elements. The visual imagery is striking: the abundance of red Ashoka flowers makes the entire grove glow like the sūrya udaya (sunrise). This creates an atmosphere of intense, fiery beauty. It sets a vibrant, almost overwhelming visual stage for Hanuman’s observation, contrasting the bright red surroundings with the dark mood of Sita’s captivity.
