Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अस्य देवीया मनः तस्मिमः तस्य च अस्याम् प्रतिष्ठितम् ।
तेन इयम् स च धर्म आत्मा मुहूर्तम् अपि जीवति ॥५-१५-५२॥
asyā devyā manaḥ tasmimaḥ tasya ca asyām pratiṣṭhitam । tena iyam sa ca dharma ātmā muhūrtam api jīvati ॥ ॥5-15-52॥
Translation
The mind of this goddess is established in him, and his (mind) is established in her. It is for this reason that she and that righteous-souled (Rama) survive even for a moment.

इन देवी का मन उन (राम) में स्थित है और उन (राम) का मन इनमें स्थित है। इसी कारण से ये और वे धर्मात्मा (राम) एक मुहूर्त भी जीवित हैं।
English Commentary
This verse explains the metaphysical basis of their survival. It is not hope alone, but the mutual transposition of minds (manaḥ pratiṣṭhitam) that sustains them. Hanuman diagnoses that Sita is alive because her mind is dwelling in Rama, and Rama is alive because his mind is dwelling in Sita. This mutual indwelling acts as a lifeline. It elevates their bond from emotional attachment to a spiritual necessity for existence.

यह रामायण का एक 'सूत्र वाक्य' है जो प्रेम की परिभाषा देता है। प्रेम शारीरिक समीपता नहीं, बल्कि 'मन का प्रतिष्ठान' है। वे एक-दूसरे के शरीर में नहीं, बल्कि एक-दूसरे के 'मन' में जीवित हैं। हनुमान जी निष्कर्ष निकालते हैं कि यदि इनका प्रेम इतना गहरा न होता, तो वियोग की अग्नि में वे कब के भस्म हो गए होते। 'जीवतः' शब्द यहाँ आश्चर्य प्रकट करता है—ऐसी पीड़ा में प्राणों का टिकना केवल इस मानसिक अद्वैत (oneness) के कारण संभव है।
