यदि रामः समुद्रान्ताम् मेदिनीम् परिवर्तयेत् ।
अस्याः कृते जगत् च अपि युक्तम् इति एव मे मतिः ॥५-१६-१३॥
yadi rāmaḥ samudrāntām medinīm parivartayet |
asyāḥ kṛte jagat ca api yuktam iti eva me matiḥ ॥5-16-13॥
Translation
If Rama were to turn the earth bounded by the ocean upside down, or even destroy the entire universe for her sake, it would indeed be appropriate; such is my opinion.
हिंदी अनुवाद
यदि श्री राम इनके (सीता के) लिए समुद्र पर्यंत सारी पृथ्वी को भी उलट-पुलट दें, अथवा सम्पूर्ण जगत का विनाश भी कर दें, तो वह उचित ही होगा, ऐसा मेरा मत है।
English Commentary
This verse represents the zenith of Hanuman’s estimation of Sita’s worth. He weighs the stability of the entire earth and the universe against Sita’s well-being and concludes that obtaining her justifies total cosmic upheaval. If Rama were to overturn the earth (medinīm parivartayet) or destroy the universe for her, Hanuman asserts it would be yuktam (proper/just). This is a profound theological and emotional statement: Sita is not merely a person to be rescued, but the very essence of righteousness and life. Without her, the preservation of the world is meaningless. It highlights the absolute nature of the Avatar’s connection to his consort.

यह श्लोक हनुमान जी की सीता जी के प्रति श्रद्धा की पराकाष्ठा है। वे तुलना कर रहे हैं कि सीता का मूल्य ब्रह्माण्ड के अस्तित्व के बराबर या उससे अधिक है। 'परिवर्तयेत्' का अर्थ है पूर्णतः बदल देना या विनाश कर देना। हनुमान जी, जो स्वयं ज्ञानी और धर्म के मर्मज्ञ हैं, यह निष्कर्ष निकालते हैं कि सीता धर्म और सत्य की साक्षात् मूर्ति हैं। यदि उनके लिए सृष्टि का संतुलन भी बिगड़ जाए, तो भी वह न्यायसंगत ('युक्तम्') होगा। यह केवल भावावेश नहीं, बल्कि एक भक्त का दृढ़ विश्वास है कि 'प्रकृति' (सीता) के बिना 'पुरुष' (राम) और सृष्टि का कोई अर्थ नहीं है।
