ताम् दृष्ट्वा नव हेम आभाम् लोक कान्ताम् इव श्रियम् ।
जगाम मनसा रामम् वचनम् च इदम् अब्रवीत् ॥५-१६-६॥
tām dṛṣṭvā nava hema ābhām loka kāntām iva śriyam । jagāma manasā rāmam vacanam ca idam abravīt ॥ ॥5-16-6॥
Translation
Seeing her, who shone like new gold and appeared like Lakshmi (Shri) who is dear to the world, he went mentally to Rama and spoke these words.
हिंदी अनुवाद
नवीन सोने जैसी आभा वाली और लोकों द्वारा पूजित लक्ष्मी के समान उस (सीता) को देखकर, हनुमान मन से राम के पास गए और यह वचन बोले।
English Commentary
Sita is compared to Nava hema (fresh gold)—implying that the fire of grief has only purified her, not tarnished her intrinsic value. She is identified with Shri (Goddess Lakshmi), the universal mother. Hanuman again enters a meditative communication with Rama. This repetition of "going mentally to Rama" highlights that every observation Hanuman makes about Sita is immediately relayed to Rama in his heart, serving as a spiritual report.

सीता की तुलना 'नव हेम' (तपाया हुआ नया सोना) से की गई है, जो मैला होने पर भी अपनी चमक नहीं खोता। उन्हें 'लोक कान्ताम् श्रियम्' (लोक-प्रिया लक्ष्मी) कहा गया है। हनुमान जी पुनः 'मनसा' (मन ही मन) राम से वार्तालाप करते हैं। यहाँ हनुमान एक सूत्रधार की भूमिका में हैं जो अपनी स्वगत उक्तियों (monologue) से पाठकों को राम और सीता के त्याग का महत्व समझा रहे हैं।
