रक्षांसि परिनिघ्नन्तः पुर्यामस्यां समन्ततः ।
असम्पातं करिष्यन्ति पतन्तः कङ्कवाससः ।

rakṣāṃsi parinighnantaḥ puryāmasyāṃ samantataḥ । asampātaṃ kariṣyanti patantaḥ kaṅkavāsasaḥ । । ॥5-19-22॥
Translation
Arrows feathered with Kanka plumes, falling all around this city and destroying the Rakshasas, will cover the space so densely that flight will be impossible.
हिंदी अनुवाद
कंक पक्षी के पंखों से युक्त बाण, इस पुरी (लंका) में सब ओर से गिरते हुए राक्षसों का संहार करेंगे और (आकाश को) ऐसा आच्छादित कर देंगे कि वहां उड़ना भी संभव न होगा।
English Commentary
Sita vividly describes a total siege. The word asampātam is significant; it signifies a density of arrows so thick that there is no space left for movement or flight. Since Rakshasas relied heavily on aerial combat and evasion, Sita warns that Rama’s archery will neutralize this advantage completely. The mention of kaṅkavāsasaḥ (arrows fitted with Kanka bird feathers) adds technical detail to the weaponry, emphasizing their speed and accuracy. She foretells that nowhere in Lanka—not even the sky—will be safe from Rama's wrath.

यहाँ सीता जी युद्ध की सघनता का वर्णन करती हैं। 'असम्पातं' शब्द अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है, जिसका अर्थ है इतना घना कि बीच में कोई अवकाश न रहे। लंका के राक्षस अपनी मायावी शक्ति से आकाश में उड़ने के लिए प्रसिद्ध थे। सीता चेतावनी देती हैं कि राम के बाणों का जाल इतना घना होगा कि राक्षसों का आकाश मार्ग भी अवरुद्ध हो जाएगा। 'कङ्कवाससः' उन बाणों को दर्शाता है जिनमें कंक पक्षी के पंख लगे होते हैं, जो गति और स्थिरता के लिए श्रेष्ठ माने जाते थे। यह रावण के किलेबंदी के अहंकार पर प्रहार है।
